Media Art and Misfortune offers unique photographic collectibles inspired by our vastly diverse artistic practices. From studios and bedrooms all over the globe, we create a wide range of products to complement anyone with a desire to embrace new, critical perspectives on photography.
Media Art and Misfortune exhibits art in an eerily familiar way that takes into consideration our established behaviour online. Instead of trying to simulate an exhibition, Media Art and Misfortune tries to hijack an existing mode of presentation that has become so common in the way we consume information but also in the way we read, shop, watch movies, stay in contact with our friends or find out about what’s happening in the world.
Media Art and Misfortune is operated by Broomberg and Chanarin’s Fotoklasse at HfbK Hamburg. The Fotoklasse consists of 26 students at both BA and MA levels all engaged with photography in the most expansive definition of the medium.
