The multi-material workshop digital/material focuses on digital fabrication processes and on the interplay between the digital realm and physical materials. It expands the existing workshop offerings with modern production technologies that are closely interconnected with the long-established workshop areas. Our equipment and expertise are highly versatile and can be applied across a wide range of projects.
Examples of student projects that are realised in the workshop:
Using the 3D printer, models from the 3D/CAD workshop were printed, as well as mold components for the plastics workshop, mechanical parts for interactive installations, furniture models, and parts of sculptures.
Using the CNC milling machine, sculptural elements as well as components of furniture artworks were milled, which were then further processed in the wood workshop.
Using the 3D printer for ceramic materials, vessels and other objects were printed, which were then glazed and fired in the ceramics workshop.
