HFBK Hamburg self-service portal +

In order to use IT services (including the Eduraom Wi-Fi) at HFBK Hamburg, all university members (students, teachers, administrative staff) and external guests require a personal HFBK ID. This always begins with hk… and replaces the need to set up multiple accounts or passwords. The ID is personal and non-transferable.

An account will be set up for you automatically upon enrollment or employment. You will receive your login details by email. You can then assign your personal password in the HFBK Hamburg self-service portal.

Media library +

The HFBK Hamburg media library collects video recordings of lectures, artist talks, symposia, podcasts, event documentation, and other audiovisual content. It serves to make artistic discussions, courses, and public contributions available digitally and offers students, teachers, and the public an archive and retrieval point for moving content from the HFBK context.

Repository +

The HFBK Hamburg repository brings together artistic and scientific projects by teachers and students, bachelor’s and master’s degree projects, doctoral dissertation projects, as well as teaching materials from the institution’s early days and historical photographic portfolios, thus reflecting the broad range of research activities carried out at the university.

Teachers and students at the HFBK Hamburg can use the repository via their central HFBK account, edit their profile, and independently upload their projects there. The projects can also include preliminary studies, sketches, drafts, or research materials, as well as images and film documentation of completed works and presentations. The repository is specifically designed to document not only the finished work, but also the artistic and scientific process as such.

The aim of this repository is not only to serve as an archive for the university’s artistic production, but also to document those artistic practices that otherwise remain invisible: productive failure, irritating inspirations, and unexpected encounters. The repository aims to give artists and theorists the opportunity to add an extra dimension to their work through cross-referencing and contextualization. The focus is therefore not on presentation and self-presentation, but rather on research, collaboration, and a fluid form of knowledge generation, a meandering through the artistic work of the HFBK Hamburg.

Collective projects (e.g., class projects for annual exhibitions) can also be created in this way and used for collaborative work. Teachers can also use this method to share seminar documents or accompanying materials with their students.

All registered HFBK users can decide individually with whom they want to share their projects and who can see what: individual professors, fellow students, the entire seminar, or the general public can be selected. The public can only see the projects and content that have been shared publicly via the website. A full-text search and selected tags make it easier to find specific content.

Lark +

Lark offers all members of HFBK Hamburg the opportunity to integrate artificial intelligence into their work and research processes easily, free of charge, and securely. The technology of ChatGPT is used via institutional access. Requests are forwarded directly to ChatGPT—without personal data such as login details or other usage information being transmitted. The content of the requests themselves is also not stored. Currently, HFBK Hamburg is covering all costs incurred as part of a pilot project.

You can only use Lark with your university ID. If you have not yet set a password for your university ID, please register in advance with the HFBK’s self-service portal.

Flights +

The Flights website and accompanying display board in the entrance hall of the HFBK Hamburg enable all students, external exhibition institutions, and project spaces to publicize their events in the HFBK context. Anyone can enter their dates independently on the website. After editorial review by the communications department of the HFBK Hamburg, the dates appear on the website and display board for everyone to see.
