The Camera/Light/Sound workshop provides a wide range of professional-grade equipment, enabling HFBK Hamburg students to produce high-quality audiovisual projects. Depending on their needs, students can borrow various camera, sound, and lighting systems, tripods, and additional accessories for film and video productions. For photographic work, analogue medium- and small-format cameras, digital photo cameras, and related accessories are also available.

The open practice workshop offers in-depth guidance on specific questions and challenges related to the development of film projects—ideally after a brief advance notice. In addition, smaller film experiments are carried out each semester, depending on the workshop’s current focus, using the equipment available on site. Information about these activities can be found on the notice board in front of the workshop entrance (K04, basement, Finkenau 35).

Please inform us of the timeframe and the equipment required for larger-scale projects in good time. To borrow equipment, you must be able to prove that you have liability insurance for loaned equipment.

Additionally, it is possible to hold one-on-one artworks discussions about your artistic project plans (for which an appointment must be made by email).
