2021/02/12: DAAD-Preis und Leistungsstipendien an internationale Studierende der HFBK Hamburg vergeben
HFBK doctoral candidate Zhichao Zhu receives this year's DAAD Award for International Students. Zhu is studying film with Prof. Robert Bramkamp. In his dissertation, the 33-year-old explores processes of becoming beyond the individual and polymorphic participation processes, combining heterogeneous theoretical impulses, for example from Chinese or French philosophy. In his films, he explores possible forms of animation in the context of digital spaces or science fiction motifs that place the relationship between interior and exterior space in a new relationship.
The annual prize, endowed with 1,000 euros, is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and is aimed at international students who distinguish themselves through outstanding artistic achievements and special social and intercultural commitment.
The international HFBK students Seda Yildiz, Noi Fuhrer, Talya Feldman, Simon Mine, Prateek Vijaan and Hüsnü Enes Yurdaün will each receive a six-month performance scholarship. Two merit scholarships are half funded by the DAAD and half by the Karl H.-Ditze Foundation for the promotion of international mobility, while four merit scholarships are funded by BWFGB Hamburg.
During the award ceremony, which took place without public participation due to the Corona pandemic, the president, Prof. Martin Köttering, emphasized the special importance of international students for artistic work and intercultural exchange at the HFBK Hamburg.
