Bernd Schoch was born in 1971 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He grew up in the black forest. In 2008 he finished his media arts studies at the State School for Art and Design at the ZKM (Center for Art and Media) in Karlsruhe. He worked as a DJ and curated different music and film programs. From 2008 to 2016, he was an artistic assistant at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg. Since 2008, Bernd Schoch has been a member of the collective Dokumentarfilmwoche Hamburg. Together with André Siegers and Alejandro Bachmann he developed and realized the experimental moving image series “Abgeguckt” at Rote Salon / Volksbühne Berlin between 2014 and 2017. He lives and works as a filmmaker in Hamburg. His works were screened at various festivals and museums and won several awards.
