Mensa
With active openness, creativity, a lot of mutual respect and without any dogma, Lukas Schrader and his small team bring fresh quality to the plate here in the krEATiv Mensa of the HFBK. Regional ingredients and imaginative upcycling dishes, such as the popular almond croissants, reflect the joy of cooking and the appreciation of all foods. If you want, you can take a culinary trip around the world here every day, because Lukas Schrader gets his ideas full of curiosity and joy from all over the world into his kitchen.

Here we call it the »Mensa«: the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg’s cafeteria is located in the basement of the main building at Lerchenfeld. In summer, there is direct access to the terrace, which has a view of the green area around the Eilbekkanal. Like all canteens in Hamburg public buildings, it is also open to people unconnected to the university.
