Trauer um Dr. Andrea Klier
It is with great sadness and sorrow that the Executive Committee (Präsidium) received the news of the death of our longtime colleague Andrea Klier, who passed away on May 4, 2025, after a serious illness.
Since 1999, Andrea Klier, who held a doctorate in art history, had worked at the HFBK in various positions, including as personal assistant to the president. From 2008 to 2016, she headed the Communications Department and the International Office and was responsible for editing the university magazine Lerchenfeld as well as numerous other publications by the HFBK's Materialverlag. In 2016, she became head of the library and university archives and helped transform the library into an inspiring place for acquiring and sharing knowledge and for lively encounters. In keeping with this spirit, the Extended Library was opened in October 2023 under her leadership. Until her retirement in February 2024, Andrea Klier contributed significantly to the further development of the HFBK into a cosmopolitan, vibrant university that values personal exchange.
In Andrea Klier, we have lost a warm-hearted colleague who was full of curiosity and knowledge about the arts and whose work will continue to resonate at our university.
The funeral will take place in Tübingen with close family.
In sympathy - Martin Köttering with Sandra Barth, Ingo Offermanns and Bettina Uppenkamp from the Executive Committee (Präsidium)
