Acts of Transmission
Lecture performance and sound installation by Nora Amin and Netta Weiser
Acts of Transmission claims new spaces of resonance for disappearing dance and healing practices, rewriting a history of trans-generational female solidarities. Amin and Weiser’s collaboration resulted in the development of a choreographic poetry-writing method, blending somatic practice with collaborative writing of physical biographical memories. Weiser’s long-term artistic research project, Radio-Choreography, explores the transformation of dance into sound, the relationship between live broadcasting and muted histories, and acts of listening as modes of being together. It centers on the creation of a radiophonic archive of dance practices produced by female choreographers during times of migration and border crossing.
