Symposium including lectures, performances, film screenings, a board game session
The artistic symposium on the leisure class examines economic inequality, consumerism, and social stratification. Conspicuous consumption and wealth display widen the gap between elites and others. Understanding value creation through class differences is crucial in a changing labor market.
At this three-day symposium will encompass a variety of lectures, performances, film screenings, a board gaming session, and a performative exhibition. The exhibition will showcase commissioned works by emerging artists on the topic of the “Leisure Class“ and the framework of the institution.
