Since 2008, the specialist insurers Hiscox has offered an art prize worth 7,500 euros in the autumn of every year in association with the HFBK Hamburg. Professors at the HFBK in the departments of Painting/Drawing, Sculpture and Photography propose a shortlist of twelve outstanding students, who then present their work to an external jury.
The awarding of the prize is accompanied by an exhibition of work by all nominees in the Kunsthaus Hamburg.
