Every semester, a contribution for the Studierendenwerk (student union), the AStA (general students’ committee), the Semesterticket (ticket for the Hamburg public transport), the Semesterticket hardship fund (a fund to support students who can’t afford the ticket) and administration costs is to be paid.

Hardship Regulations
In case of exceptional hardship (for health reasons, absence from Hamburg, spatial reasons, social reasons) a rebate of the cost of the semester ticket can be applied for at the Studierendenwerk Hamburg.
