In the ceramics workshop artistic plans can be realised in ceramic materials (clay/porcelain) as well as plaster and cement. Here, HFBK students will learn techniques for creating form including free modelling, pouring techniques, techniques involving rotational symmetry and forming using plaster. Diverse processes for working ceramic surfaces will also be taught: application and development of glazes, plastic working techniques and various firing techniques. A two-week introductory course will be held every semester. In extension seminars, students can extend their knowledge to include the history of artistic ceramic production as well as ceramic technology and iconography.
